Nominate in CEO of the Year
Technology and ingenuity have long played significant roles in improving the quality of finished metal materials, as well as the efficiency of the production process. This award recognizes the other side of the industry, honoring an end-user that has best channeled the metals industry’s
spirit of innovation.
The judges will consider initiatives or projects conceived by metals end-users or individual companies that have generated considerable cost or energy savings, or resulted in improved efficiency in the use or operation of particular finished metal products.
In addition to reduction per unit or other key metrics, the judges also want to see comprehensive improvements and percentage of overall results.
Nominate in End-User Efficiency Initiative of the Year
Nominate in Financial Deal of the Year
Nominate in Aluminum
Nominate in Copper
Nominate in Raw Materials & Mining
Nominate in Scrap & Recycling
Nominate in Steel
This category seeks to identify and acknowledge the work of a company or organization, that has been instrumental in shepherding an innovative metals production technology or unorthodox implementation or practice into play – the first movers which deserve proper recognition.
Judges will focus on the research, development and commercialization of ingenious and cost effective ways to enhance one or more of the key objectives of all metals producers – greater efficiency, higher productivity, better quality and lower environmental impact. The scope of the award ranges from raw materials supply, through primary production and further processing, to the end customer interface.
Nominate in Innovative Technology of the Year
The winner in this category may be an outstanding business leader, politician, regulator, community activist, economist, engineer, trading or financial manager or technology specialist—any member of our industry who has made an outstanding contribution to the development and future of the metals industry in the course of his or her career.
This award is for those who have consistently made the tough decisions which paid off for an entire organization and even industry itself. Entrants will have implemented experience from prior roles, setting a new standard of industry excellence cutting across all classifications and criteria.
Nominations from individual’s employers, as well as from peers and colleagues will be accepted.
Nominate in Lifetime Achievement Award
Nominations will NOT be accepted for this category. The judges will select the recipient for the Metals Company of the Year from the entire list of finalists. Companies which are fast-moving, adaptive, and concerned with the provision, production, logistics and trading of the metals complex as a whole are most eligible for this esteemed award.
In selecting the Metals Company of the Year, the judges are looking for all-around excellence in executing a total metals strategy. The range and extent of a company’s activities—its diversity, scope, technological innovation, and environmental concern—are pivotal factors, as are the traditional values of care for the end user and efficiency. Particular attention will be paid to each company’s commitment to sustainability. The winner of the Metals Company of the Year will stand above all others in the industry.
While nominations are not accepted for this award, Judges will focus exclusively on performance and achievements since June 2011 as it relates to Integrity, Financial Results, Innovation, Operational Excellence and Strategic Vision.
